Grilled Sirloin Steak With Mushroom Wine Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 x To 6 center cut top sirloin steaks
- 1 1/2 tsp Lemon pepper
- 8 ounce Fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cl Garlic, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. Onion, finely minced
- 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
- 1 Tbsp. Flour
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Tomato paste
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/8 tsp White pepper
- 1/2 c. Dry red wine or possibly Madeira
- 1/4 c. Beef stock or possibly broth
Directions
- To prepare wine sauce, saute/fry mushrooms, garlic and onion in melted butter or possibly margarine in saucepan till mushrooms are tender. Add in flour, stirring till blended; cook over medium heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Blend in tomato paste, salt and pepper; stir in wine and stock till well-blended. Simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Sprinkle steaks with lemon pepper. Grill steaks over moderately warm coals for 5 to 8 min per side for medium rare, or possibly to a desired degree of doneness. Serve with mushroom-wine sauce.
