Grilled Ribeyes 'N' Caramelized Onions
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. teriyaki marinade and sauce plus
- 1 Tbsp. teriyaki marinade and sauce divided
- 1/4 tsp grnd red pepper
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil divided
- 1 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley (optional)
- 2 x beef ribeye steaks, 1" thick
- 1 lrg onion
- 1 tsp water
- 1/4 tsp sugar
Directions
- Stir together 1/2 c. teriyaki sauce, red pepper, 1 Tbsp. oil, and if you like, parsley in a 13- by 9-inch baking dish; add in steaks, turning to coat. Cover and refrigerate30 min on each side.
- Cut onion into 1/4-inch-thick slices, and separate into rings. Place in a microwave-safe dish; cover and microwave at HIGH 6 min.
- Stir together remaining 1 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce, 1 tsp. water, and sugar.
- Saute/fry onion in remaining 1/2 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 2 to 3 min or possibly till golden. Remove from heat; stir in teriyaki sauce mix. Keep hot.
- Grill steaks, covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat (350 to 400 degrees) 6 min on each side or possibly to desired degree of doneness. Serve with caramelized onions.
- This recipe yields 2 servings.
- Comments: Invite friends over, and throw steaks on the grill. Serve them with mashed potatoes and green beans.
