GAJAR KA HALWA (CARROTS DESSERT)
This is one of the best Indian dishes I couldn't forget in my life. It's incredibly tasty and exotic. I didn't stop searching how to make it until I came up with this recipe. Ingredients
- 1/4 c. corn oil
- 1 kg. carrots, grated
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 6 tbsp. powdered milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla essence
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 5 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. raisins
- 1 tbsp. chopped cashew nuts
Directions
- Saute grated carrots in hot oil for 5 minutes.
- Add milk and vanilla. Simmer until milk is absorbed into the carrots.
- Stir occasionally.
- Add sugar, butter and raisins, continue stirring until liquid is absorbed.
- Garnish with cashew nuts.
