Fudge Frosting
Mom made this cake for dad's birthday every year. He just loved it. Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
- 2 Tbsp. shorting
- 4 squared unsweetened chocolate
- 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a pot and blend. Then cover and bring to a boil. As soon as it boils cook uncovered, without stirring to the soft ball stage. Let cool add vanilla extract and beat until thick enough to hold shape.
- (Mom says: If too thick add cream; if too thin add 1/2 cup confectioners sugar) Cooking time will vary use your judgement.
