Fried Kembung (Mackerel) With Assam Sauce
Spicy-sweet-sour and aromatic sauce/dip. Ingredients
- For fish
- 4 preboiled ikan kembung/mackerel – rinse with water and pat dry
- For Assam sauce:
- 2 tbsp assam/tamarind - add some water and squeeze out the juice.
- 1 inch ginger (chopped)
- 1 medium size onion (chopped)
- 4 chili padi (chopped)
- 3 kaffir lime/limau purut leaves (shredded)
- A pinch of salt.
- 1 tsp sugar.
Directions
- For fish
- Deep fry and remove from oil.
- For sauce
- Combine all these ingredients and stir to dissolve salt and sugar.
