French onion biscuits are easy and delicious. French onion biscuits have become one of our favorites because they are wonderful with just about any soup.  We love them with our homemade vegetable beef soup. These biscuits came about when I had leftover French onion dip in the fridge that I needed to use.  I had no idea they would become such a hit with my family. They keep well for several days in a cool spot and can be reheated in the microwave or oven. They are versatile in that you could add in some spices such as garlic, black pepper, dried onions, etc. to make them your own. French onion biscuits are great anytime with any meal, too, just slathered with butter. 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 stick cold butter 1 1/4 cups French onion dip 1/2 cup buttermilk Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder in a large bowl.  Cut cold butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. I shred my butter with a hand shredder but you could cut it in small pieces. I just use a large spoon to cut the butter into the flour.  Stir in the French onion dip and buttermilk with a spoon until it comes together with the flour.  Sprinkle some flour onto a counter top or board, pat out with your hands to about 1/2 inch thick.  Cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter. (You can use an empty metal can or a glass, too. Place on a sprayed baking sheet and bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes until tops are golden brown.  Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.  Enjoy! Don’t forget to pin French onion biscuits.
