    If you have ever been to the Olive Garden, you may well have tried this popular favorite. This recipe is spot on. This recipe is actually purportedly the actual Olive Garden original recipe. Who knows for sure. All I know is that it may as well be, and this is a great way to have a little bit of Olive Garden right in your own home.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
    • 1 Tbsp butter
    • 1 large diced white onion
    • 4 pieces bacon chopped into 1/2" pieces
    • 2 cloves garlic minced
    • 10 cups water
    • 5 chicken bouillon cubes
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 3 large potatoes halved length-wise and sliced into 1/8" slices
    • 2 cups kale leaves chopped

    Directions

    1. Sauté Italian sausage in a large pot breaking up sausage pretty small.
    2. Remove Sausage and set aside.
    3. In the same pan, add Tbsp butter and sauté bacon, onions and garlic over low-medium heat for approximately 15 mins or until the onions are soft.
    4. Add chicken bouillon and water and heat until it starts to boil.
    5. Add the sliced potatoes and cook until soft (about 1/2 hour).
    6. Add the heavy cream and just cook until heated.
    7. Stir in the sausage and the kale.
    8. Cook about 1/2 hour more and serve.
