  • Farms Fudge Cake, Filling And Frosting

    Ingredients

    • 3/4 c. butter
    • 2 1/4 c. sugar
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 3 large eggs
    • 3 (1 ounce) sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    • 3 c. cake flour
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 3/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 c. ice water
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 c. lowfat milk
    • 1 1/2 c. minced dates
    • 1 T flour
    • 1/4 c. sugar
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1/2 c. nuts, minced
    • 2 c. sugar
    • 1 c. light cream
    • 2 (1 ounce) sq. unsweetened chocolate, grated

    Directions

    1. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add in large eggs, beating till light and fluffy. Blend in melted chocolate.Sift all dry ingredients together. Add in to chocolate mix, alternating dry ingredients and water.
    2. Pour into three 8 inch pans that have been greased and lined with wax paper. Bake at 350 for 35 min.
    3. Cook lowfat milk and dates in a double boiler. Add in remainder of ingredients. Cook till thickened. Spread between layers of cake when cool.
