Easy Peach Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 can peach halves, liquid removed (reserve , 1/4 c. syrup) (29 ounce)
- 1/2 c. minced pecans
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp grnd nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp. margarine or possibly butter, softened
- 1 c. Bisquick baking mix
- 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1 Tbsp. margarine or possibly butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Directions
- Arrange peach halves, cut side down, in ungreased 8" square baking dish; pour reserved syrup over peaches.
- Mix pecans, 1/4 c. granulated sugar, the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle proportionately over peaches. Dot with softened margarine.
- Mix baking mix and lowfat milk till soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes.
- Gently smooth dough into ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times.
- Roll dough into 8" square; place over peaches.
- Brush with melted margarine; sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar.
- Bake uncovered till golden, 20 to 25 min.
- Serve with whipped cream if you like.
- Make 8 to 9 servings.
