  • Easy Crumb Topped Cherry Pie

    Ingredients

    • 2 can (1pd each) tart Cherries packed in water (NOT cherry pie filling)
    • 1 c. Plus 2 Tablespoons sugar, divided Usage
    • 1/4 c. Cornstarch
    • 8 dsh red food coloring
    • 2 x Pet-ritz deep dish pie Crusts, frzn
    • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

    Directions

    1. Drain cherries, reserving 1/2 c liquid. In large saucepan, combine liquid removed cherries, reserved liquid, 1 c. sugar, cornstarch and food coloring. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, till thickened. Pour into one frzn pie crust. While still frzn, break or possibly crumble second crust into very small pcs; mix with remaining 2 Tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle proportionately over cherries. Bake in preheated 425 oven on a preheated baking sheet 10 min. Reduce oven temperature to 350 and bake an additional 45-50 min.
