Dr. Pepper Cherry Marshmallow Cake
Ingredients
- 2 can Dark sweet cherries, pitted, liquid removed, reserving syrup
- 3/4 c. Reserved cherry syrup
- 1/4 c. Dr. Pepper
- 1 sm Cherry Jello
- 1/8 tsp Almond extract
- 1 pkt Yellow cake mix
- 1 sm Cherry Jello
- 1/2 c. Vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. Dr. Pepper
- 4 x Large eggs
- 2 c. Minature marshmallows
Directions
- Arrange cherries proportionately on bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a small saucepan, combine the cherry syrup, 1 package of cherry jello and 1/4 c. Dr. Pepper; gently heat till jello is dissolved. Add in almond extract and cold slightly. In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, 1 pack cherry jello, oil, Large eggs and 3/4 c. Dr. Pepper. Beat on high for 3-4 min. Pour cooled jello mix over cherries in pan.
- Sprinkle proportionately with the minature marshmallows and then carefully and proportionately spoon the batter mix over the marshmallows. Bake for 40-45 min.
- Cold on rack for 45 min. Refrigerate3-4 hrs. This is a self icing cake!!!
