Double Crust Pie Pastry With Corn Oil
Ingredients
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt (or possibly butter-flavor salt)
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/4 c. corn oil or possibly other polyunsaturated oil
- 2 Tbsp. ice water to 3 tb
Directions
- Stir flour, salt, and baking pwdr together (or possibly use 1 c. self-rising flour omitting salt and baking pwdr). With a fork or possibly pastry knife, fold in the oil. Then cut in the ice water, a Tbsp. at a time, only till the mix leaves the sides of the bowl.
- Shape into one larger and one smaller ball, wrap, and chill. Roll out as thin as possible on a well-floured board using a floured rolling pin.
