    Another holiday sweet

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup butter
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 egg, well beaten
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 12-oz bag semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 c chopped salted peanuts

    Directions

    1. Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    2. Add vanilla, egg, and flour sifted with salt.
    3. Stir well.
    4. Spread mixture on greased 13x9 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. DON'T OVERBAKE!
    5. Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle chips over the baked base.
    6. Stick the pan in the oven for about a minute, long enough to start melting the chips so they spread easily.
    7. Spread the melted chips over the base.
    8. Sprinkle with nuts.
    9. Cool and cut into bars.
