Chocolate Cake With Yeast
Ingredients
- 1 c. Butter
- 2 c. Sugar
- 3 x Large eggs separated
- 3 ounce Unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1/2 pkt Yeast
- 1/4 c. Lukewarm water
- 1 c. Lowfat milk
- 2 3/4 c. Sifted cake flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 3 Tbsp. Warm water
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 2 9" round pans.
- Dissolve yeast with 1 tsp. sugar in 1/4 c. hot water. Dissolve baking pwdr in 3 Tbsp. warm water. Sift flour, baking pwdr and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar. Add in yolks, chocolate and yeast. Mix well.
- Add in flour mix alternately with lowfat milk. Add in baking soda mix and vanilla. Beat till smooth. Mix in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 45 min.
