Chinese Cabbage Salad
Ingredients
- NOODLE MIX
- 3 pkt Ramen noodles crushed
- 1 ct sesame seeds from the spice shelf
- 2 pkt slivered almonds THE DRESSING
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 bn green onions minced THE ASSEMBLY
- 1 lrg head Nappa cabbage shredded The Noodle Mix (above) The Dressing (above)
Directions
- FOR NOODLE MIX: Combine and heat in 300F oven for approximately 15-20 min, watching which the mix does not get too brown. Cold. Save half for the next time you make the salad. It keeps well in a zip-lock bag.
- FOR THE DRESSING: Combine and shake well to blend.
- FOR THE ASSEMBLY: When ready to serve, combine cabbage, dressing, and noodle mix and toss.
- Variation:1 package skinless, boneless chicken breasts Lawry's Fajita bottled marinade
- Tenderize thick parts of the chicken breast. Coat each side of chicken breast with marinade and chill for several hrs. Saute/fry in frying pan for 3-5 min on each side. Slice thin and add in to salad while warm and mix through.
