  • Chicken Breasts A La'orange

    Ingredients

    • 3 x chicken breasts halved
    • 10 3/4 ounce cream of celery soup or possibly cream of chicken
    • 4 ounce sliced mushrooms liquid removed
    • 2/3 c. flour
    • 3 Tbsp. flour
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp nutmeg
    • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    • 2 tsp brown sugar
    • 1 dsh pepper
    • 1 dsh garlic pwdr
    • 1/2 c. orange juice
    • 1/2 tsp orange rind grated
    • 2 x sweet potatoes peeled,cut in 1/4" s buttered rice

    Directions

    1. Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Combine 2/3 c. flour with salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper and garlic pwdr. Thoroughly coat chicken in flour mix. Place sweet potato slices in bottom of crock pot. Place chicken breasts on top.
    2. Combine soup with remaining ingredients except buttered rice; stir well. Pour soup mix over chicken breasts. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hrs or possibly on high setting for 3 to 4 hrs, or possibly till chicken and vegetables are tender. Cook rice separately. Serve over warm buttered rice.
