  • Cheese and Bacon Scones 芝士培根烤饼

    Ingredients

    • CHEESE
    • AND BACON SCONES
    • 3 cups self-raising flour
    • ½ cup grated tasty cheese,
    • plus extra to go on top
    • ½ cup finely chopped cooked bacon (or ham to your liking)
    • 2 tbsp. finely chopped parsley or chives or spring onion
    • 150ml milk (extra for glazing)
    • For sweet scones, omit cheese and bacon and replace with a cup of

    Directions

    1.

    Preheat the oven to 190

    degree Celsius. Line an oven tray with baking paper.

    2.

    In a large bowl combine dry

    ingredients – flour, cheese and parsley

    3.

    In a separate bowl whisk milk,

    cream and egg together

    4.

    Make a well for dry

    ingredients and pour in wet mixture.

    5.

    Use spatula quickly mixes all

    the ingredients together into soft dough.

    6.

    Turn the dough out onto a

    light floured table top and knead lightly to pat into a rough square about

    2-3 cm thick.

    7.

    Cut into 12 squares and place

    on the prepared tray.

    8.

    Brush each scone with milk

    and top with extra cheese if desired.

    9.

    Bake for 15 minutes until

    golden.

    For sweet scones, omit cheese and bacon and replace with a cup of

    fruit or chopped dates and add 2 table spoon of sugar. Serve with butter and

    jam.
