Caramel Cashew Brownies

- 18 caramels
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped salted cashews
Directions
- In a saucepan, cook and stir the caramels, butter and milk over low heat until the caramels are melted and the mixture is smooth
- Remove from the heat
- Stir in the sugar
- Stir the eggs and vanilla into the caramel mixture
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and the slat
- Stir into the caramel mixture until blended
- Fold in the cashews
- Transfer to a greased 9-inch square baking pan
- Bake at 350 F for 24-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
- Cool on a wire rack
- Cut into bars
