    A snack to serve along with samoosas or other savoury items

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups chickpea flour
    • 1 cup Selfraising flour
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 1 tsp. tumeric
    • 2 tsp. fine cumin
    • 1 tsp. masala
    • 1/2 tsp. chilli powder
    • 2 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. minced garlic
    • 2 Finely chopped onions
    • 2. Green chillies, chopped
    • 1 bunch spinach, washed, stems removed and finely chopped
    • 1 egg, lightly whisked
    • Oil for deep frying

    Directions

    1. Mix dry ingredients, spices and vegatables in a deep bowl
    2. Add the egg and JUST enough water to make a soft dough
    3. Leave to stand for 30 minutes
    4. Heat some oil in a deep pot, medium heat
    5. Drop teaspoonsful batter in the oil and deepfry until golden brown
    6. Take care not to overheat oil to avoid the puffs being raw inside and overly brown on the outside
    7. Drain on kitchen paper
