Cake Rusk
A delicious double baked cake bar for breakfast or teatime. Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter ,softened
- 1/2 cu Castor sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 cup Plain Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
- Few drops Yellow Food Color,optional
Directions
- Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add in eggs,one at a time. Beating well after each addition.
- Add essence and color.
- Fold in sieved flour and baking powder mixture.
- Pour in a greased and lined cake Rusk tin or 7" square pan.
- Bake at 180 C for 20-25 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Now cut it in center and then cut each half in thin slices.
- Arrange on lined baking tray and bake at 150 C for 15 minutes.
- Turn the side of cake slices and bake again for 15 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
- Remove and let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Store in an airtight container.
