    • 1 large head cabbage, thinly sliced
    • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
    • salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Drain the bacon slices on paper towels; crumble when cooled. Drain all but 3 tablespoons of bacon drippings from the skillet.

 2Sauté the onion for about 10 minutes, then add the cabbage, and mushrooms until tender and lightly browned, about 20 minutes, pour in the vinegar. Stir the bacon into the cabbage mixture.
