  • Butterscotch Brownie Mix

    Ingredients

    • Gift in a Jar
    • 1/2 c. firmly packed flaked coconut*
    • 3/4 c. minced pecans
    • 2 c. firmly packed dark or possibly light brown sugar
    • 2 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp. baking pwdr (check expiration date)
    • 1/4 tsp table salt

    Directions

    1. Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-qt wide-mouth canning jar.
    2. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.
    3. * Baker's Angel Flake Coconut is good. Frzn coconut tends to be dry out.
    4. Attach this to the Jar
    5. Butterscotch Brownies
    6. Makes 2 dozen brownies
    7. Place contents of jar in a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
    8. Add in:3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter (not whipped or possibly soft kind)
    9. 2 Large eggs, slightly beaten
    10. 2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    11. Mix till completely blended.
    12. Spread batter into a sprayed 9x13 metal pan.
    13. Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 min.
    14. Cold 15 min in baking pan. Cut brownies into 1 1/2 inch squares.
