  • Butter Pecan Cake With Praline Frosting

    Ingredients

    • 2/3 c. butter flavor Crisco
    • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 c. buttermilk
    • 2 c. flour
    • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 c. minced pecans

    Directions

    1. PRALINE FROSTING:1/2 c butter flavor Crisco1/2 c minced pecans1/4 c milk1/2 tsp vanilla3 to 3-1/2 c confectioners' sugar
    2. Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 13x9 pan. Cream Crisco, sugars, Large eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add in buttermilk, flour, soda, baking pwdr, and salt. Beat at low speed until blended. Beat at med. speed 2 min. Stir in pecans. Pour into pan. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, until toothpick tests clean. Cold before frosting.
    3. PRALINE FROSTING
    4. 1/2 c butter flavor Crisco1/2 c minced pecans1/4 c milk1/2 tsp vanilla3 to 3-1/2 c confectioners' sugar
    5. In small saucepan combine Crisco and pecans. Cook over med heat until Crisco is melted. Blend in lowfat milk and vanilla. Transfer to bowl. Add in Confectioners' sugar one c. at a time, beating at medium speed until it reaches the desired consistency.
