    Ingredients

    • 6 slices bread, day old
    • 4 beaten eggs
    • 2 tbsp melted butter
    • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
    • 3/4 cup white sugar
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

    Directions

    1. To begin on this bread pudding easy recipe, you will first need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
    2. Next, break your bread into small pieces and place in an eight inch square baking pan. Drizzle some melted butter or margarine all over your bread. At this point I normally also sprinkle some raisins over the bread for a more crunchy feel to the dish.
    3. Combine the eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla and cinnamon into a medium mixing bowl and beat this mixture well until it is thoroughly mixed together. For a richer taste to your pudding, you may substitute the milk for some whipping cream instead, and then top it all off with some vanilla sauce.
    4. Pour this mixture over the bread and use a fork to lightly push down the bread until it is well covered and has soaked up this egg mixture.
    5. Place the dish into the preheated oven and allow it to bake for forty five minutes. I normally just check that the top is able to spring back when I lightly tap on it as a sign that the pudding is ready.
    6. Serve hot.
