Is it bread, or is it pudding? It’s actually bread pudding! Now what exactly is bread pudding? Traditionally, bread pudding is cubed bread that’s tossed in a simple custard mixture and is baked until it turns a beautiful golden brown shade. This is a recipe for the classic bread pudding that comforts the soul.

    Ingredients

    • 6 slices of Bread
    • 2 tbsp Butter, melted
    • ½ cup Chocolate chips (Optional)
    • 4 Eggs, beaten
    • 2 cup Milk
    • ¾ cup White Sugar
    • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
    • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C.
    2. Break the bread into small pieces and place it in an 8-inch square baking pan. Drizzle melted butter or margarine on top of the bread. Sprinkle with chocolate chips if desired.
    3. Combine the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl. Mix until everything is well combined. Pour over the bread and gently press down with a fork until the bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
    4. Bake for 45 minutes in the preheated oven or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
