Boysenberry, Strawberry, And Orange Granita
Ingredients
- 1 c. orange juice
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp grated orange peel
- 1 pkt fresh strawberries - (16 ounce) hulled, and quartered - (abt 3 1/2 c.)
- 1 pt fresh Boysenberries
Directions
- Combine orange juice, 3/4 c. water, honey, sugar, and orange peel in blender. Add in half of strawberries and half of Boysenberries; puree till almost smooth. Add in remaining berries; puree till smooth.
- Pour mix out onto 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking pan. Freeze till edges are icy and center is slushy, about 1 hour 30 min. Stir icy edges into slushy center. Freeze granita till solid, stirring every 45 min, about 3 1/2 hrs longer.
- Using fork, scrape granita down length of pan, forming icy flakes. Cover and freeze at least 1 hour and up to 2 days. Spoon granita into glasses.
- This recipe yields 8 servings.
