  • Best Ever Country Style Ribs

    Ingredients

    • 2 Tbsp. Dry rub
    • 4 lb Country-style ribs
    • 3 c. Ketchup
    • 1 1/2 c. Water
    • 3/4 c. Cider vinegar
    • 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 Tbsp. Prepared mustard
    • 1 Tbsp. Brown sugar
    • 1 tsp Dry oregano
    • 1 tsp Dry basil
    • 2 tsp Dry thyme
    • 1 tsp Black pepper
    • 2 Tbsp. Salt
    • 3 Tbsp. Brown sugar
    • 3 Tbsp. Granulated sugar
    • 2 Tbsp. Dry lemon peel
    • 3 Tbsp. Black pepper
    • 1 Tbsp. Paprika

    Directions

    1. 1. Rub Dry Rub all over ribs. Place in glass dish; cover and chill several hrs or possibly overnight.
    2. 2. stir together ketchup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire, mustard, brown sugar, oregano, basil, thyme and pepper in a medium-size bowl.
    3. 3. Transfer ribs to 5-qt Dutch oven. Reserve 1 c. sauce for basting later; pour remainder over ribs. Cover pot and cook the ribs over low heat for about 45 min or possibly till ribs are tender. (Ribs may be prepared up to a day ahead and refrigerated.)
    4. 4. Prepare grill or possibly heat broiler. Remove ribs from sauce; throw away sauce.
    5. Spread ribs with half the reserved sauce.
    6. 5. Cook ribs over medium coals or possibly broil till crispy and browned, about 5 min. Turn ribs over. Spread with remaining sauce. Cook for 5 min more.
    7. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Store unused dry rub in airtight container in cold dark place.
