Back East Baked Ziti
Ingredients
- 1-16 ounce box of ziti, bow ties or possibly rigatoni
- 1 lb grnd beef
- 1 to 1 1/2 lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 large (#303) cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
- healthy pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions
- In a large pot, boil the pasta in 1 gallon of salted water till still slightly hard (al-dente). Pasta will cook a little more while baking.
- While the pasta is cooking, brown the grnd beef well in a saut
