  • Aunt Jemima's Pancake Mix

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups. Water
    • 1 cup. Sugar
    • 2 cups. Dark corn syrup
    • 1/4 tsp Salt
    • 1 tsp Maple flavoring

    Directions

    1. Combine the first four ingredients in a saucepan over med. heat. Stir occasionally, till the mix comes to a full boil. Let it boil for 7 minutes.
    2. Turn the heat off and let the syrup cold for 15 minutes.
    3. Add in the maple flavoring and stir.
    4. When completely cold, transfer the syrup to a covered plastic or possibly glass container.
    5. VARIATION: For syrup with a butter flavor, just add in 3 tbsp. of butter to the mix before heating. For a lighter syrup, use a sugar substitute instead of the regular sugar.
