  • Asian Flank Steak Salad Over Cold Noodles

    Ingredients

    • 1 Tbsp. Chili oil
    • 1 Tbsp. Sesame oil
    • 2 Tbsp. Rice wine vinegar
    • 1 Tbsp. Minced garlic
    • 1 Tbsp. Chopped ginger
    • 2 Tbsp. Minced green onions
    • 1 Tbsp. Fermented black beans
    • 1/4 c. Soy sauce
    • 3 lb Flank steak
    • 3 c. Cooked angel hair pasta, al dente
    • 1 tsp Sesame oil
    • 1 tsp Toasted sesame seeds
    • 1 Tbsp. Soy sauce
    • 1 Tbsp. Minced green onions
    • 1/4 tsp Crushed red pepper
    • 2 Tbsp. Grated carrots

    Directions

    1. In a small bowl combine the marinade ingredients. Mix well. Place the flank steak in a large plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the meat. Squeeze out the excess air and seal. Chill for 24 hrs.
    2. Preheat grill or possibly broiler. Remove the flank steak from the marinade. Grill or possibly broil on both sides for 6 min. Remove and allow to cold for 30 min. Chill for 2 hrs till cool.
    3. Meanwhile, make the noodle salad. In a bowl toss together the pasta, sesame oil, sesame seeds, soy, green onions, crushed red pepper and carrots. Taste and adjust the seasonings. Place in the middle of a large plate. Slice the flank steak and position the slices around the plate or possibly toss it all together.
    4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
