Apple & Sausage Toastette Appetizers
Such wonderful flavors and a lovely presentation for your next occasion. Ingredients
- 8 ounce link Sweet Sausage cut into slices
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 apples (of your choice) peeled, cored, sliced
- Pastry Dough (from the freezer section of your grocery store)
- one cup Mascarpone cheese
- Garnish with chopped chives, optional (I always do)
Directions
- Pre Heat Oven 400 F
- Roll out pastry dough and curl up the edges, add a sprinkle of sugar and place on a rimmed non stick baking sheet pan, put into the oven for 6 minutes, remove and set aside
- Peel, core and slices apples (I put them into a bowl with fresh Pure Apple juice to eliminate browning and add flavor, that's optional)
- In a saucepan add butter, sliced sausages and brown several minutes until no longer pink ( about 8 minutes)
- Coat the pastry dough with mascarpone cheese, spread out evenly, add cooked sausage slices, add apple slices on top
- Garnish with chives if desired
