  • Apple Oat Snack Squares

    Ingredients

    • 3 c. buttermilk biscuit mix
    • 2 c. uncooked quick-cooking oats
    • 2/3 c. light brown sugar - (firmly packed)
    • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
    • 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine cut into pcs
    • 1 c. lowfat milk
    • 1 can apple fruit filling - (21 ounce)
    • 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar

    Directions

    1. Stir together first 4 ingredients in a medium bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender till crumbly. Stir in lowfat milk just till dry ingredients are moistened.
    2. Mix in fruit filling, and spoon into a lightly greased 13- by 9-inch pan. Sprinkle with 2 Tbsp. brown sugar.
    3. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min or possibly till golden brown. Cold on a wire rack, and cut into squares.
    4. This recipe yields 16 squares.
    5. Yield: 16 squares
