  • Apple Braid

    Ingredients

    • 1 pkt crescent dinner rolls
    • 2 Tbsp. flour
    • 2 med apples
    • 1/3 c. sugar
    • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
    • 1/8 tsp cloves
    • 2 tsp butter or possibly margarine melted
    • 1/4 c. powdered sugar
    • 1 Tbsp. lowfat milk

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 . Unroll crescent roll dough and place in bottom of 9 x 13 baker. Lightly sprinkle with flour. Roll dough till perforations are sealed and dough is flat. Peel, core, and slice apples. Cut in quarters. Combine sugar and spices. Add in apples and toss lightly. Place apple mix down center of dough, approximately 2" wide. Cut 10 slits, about 3/4" wide on each long side of dough surrounding apple mix. To braid, fold strips of dough at an angle across apple mix alternating dough strips from one side to the other. Fold ends over to seal. Heat butter just till it liquefies; don't boil. Brush with melted butter. Bake 30 min. Cut and serve hot. To make glaze: combine powdered sugar and lowfat milk. Stir till smooth. Pour over hot bread.
