  • Apple Blackberry Pie

    Ingredients

    • 5 c. Apples (thinly sliced) peeled
    • 1 pt Blackberries ( rinsed and liquid removed)
    • 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
    • 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
    • 3/4 c. Sugar
    • 1 x Egg lightly beaten
    • 2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
    • 1 Tbsp. Water or possibly lowfat milk Additional sugar

    Directions

    1. Put bottom pastry in a 9-in pie pan, top with thin layers of apples.
    2. Combine blackberries and remaining apples in a large bowl; sprinkle with lemon juice. Add in sugar and cornstarch and toss gently. Spoon into pie shell. dot with butter. Top with a lattice crust; seal edges. Combine egg and water or possibly lowfat milk; brush over lattice top and pie edges. Bake at 375 for 50 minutes. or possibly till filling is bubbly and apples are tender. Sprinkle with additional sugar. Hope you like it.
    3. I didn't use the egg etc., I sprayed the crust with the butter spray to cut a few calories. And I didn't put a layer of apples down, I mixed everything together(berries and apples) It came out so good which my husband was asking everyone at work about this pie.
