  • Apple And Almond Crumble

    Ingredients

    • 6 x crisp eating apples
    • 1 x juice of 1 lemon
    • 50 gm amaretti biscuits about 8
    • 100 gm plain flour
    • 25 gm soft brown sugar
    • 1/2 x level tsp grnd cinnamon
    • 75 gm softened butter Peel quarter core and thickly slice the apples. Toss in the lemon juice. tip into an ovenproof dish. Roughly crumble the amaretti. Mix with the flour sugar and cinnamon. Rub in the butter till crumbly and just beginning to hold together. Spoon over the apples.

    4. This takes about 45 min.
    5. If after about 20 min in the roasting oventhe top is browning too much either cover with foil or possibly slide in the cool shelf. The apples should be soft when prodded.
    6. This is a slightly unusual crumble the amaretti biscuits provide an almond flavour with a slightly different texture. Eating apples have been used that means which no extra sugar is needed and they cook till soft but still holding their shape.
