About me

Seattle, WA, United States
I am a Northeastern Pennsylvania girl, who has live in Seattle for 9 years. I run a part-time baking business out of my home called The Lonely Radish Goods, which started after moving and not being able to find another library job. I had more time to bake, and realized that at least for a while I'd like to spend my day with butter instead of the general public. If I am not cooking or baking, I am shopping, reading, daydreaming or watching shows about food. I collect vintage cooking pamphlets, and love Belgium beer. I enjoy reading, writing, conversation, playing board and card games, and listening to records. I am also very sarcastic and like dry humor, Dean Martin and Irving Berlin.

Cooking Influences

My hands, hunger, my eyes, people who smile when they cook. I like making someone's day with something I made with mine.

I just noticed you recommend the Palace Kitchen in Seattle. I think I have been here a long time ago. Great restaurant. Matter of fact, an old high school friend named Will Rogers used to chef there. Wonder if this is the same place?? Is it in downtown?

      Hi Sara,
I wasn't logged in so I don't know if I left a previous message for you or not.
Yes, I got your very kind blog award, but I didn't recognize it for what it was. Somehow, I didn't see the link to your site, so I thought you were wishing me good weather.
In any case, when I went to send an email back to you, it didn't go through. Now that I see the real spelling of your last name, I may try it again. Multiple responses, in my book, are better than no response at all!
      Cheers,
      Don
