About me

I love to be creative in the kitchen. I have lived in most states, traveled to others and have had a chance to travel to Italy. My Granny taught me to make cookies when I was very small. The family has pictures of me at my little work table and wearing my apron. I was 2,
I was making dinner for my Mom when I was 10. I put together these one pot casserole things. They usually involved ground beef, veggies and cheese and some kind of seasoning. . Mom called them bubblegum casseroles.

Cooking Influences

Like most people my age I grew up with Julia Child, and the Galloping Gourmet. My mom had an eclectic group of cookbooks, and I love to read them. We had Seven Centuries, New York Times, Betty Crocker, My favorite was this cookbook called My Favorite Recipes. I think it was published the 1950's based on the illustrations.

Today, when I get a change, I like to watch Alton Brown, because he makes food science interesting. And Giada di Laurentis, because she talks about growing up with an Italian family. I love Italian food. . And Lidia.

Along with Italian, I like Mexican food and Chinese too
