About me

I am Portuguese married to my soul mate and woman of my life Sheila and father of a wonderful son named Jonas.
Cooking has always been my passion and the years spent in London gave me most of the skills and tools that made me the chef I am today.
Started my carrer as kitche porter at Bertorreli's ( Italian restaurant) in the heart of Charlotte Street (London) and worked my way up in the same place to a chef tournant position. I've always kept my eyes opened and was always awear of what was going on arround me.
I had many Mentors but there are a couple of names that I have to mention.
Roberto was the first. He gave me the chance to move in to the kitchen promoting me to become "Pizzaiolo" and I was offerd a schollarship to go to college.
Gary Lee was my guidance, my friend, my father figure and played all his cards on my success. Whit him I grew to become his Scenior Sous Chef.
A few others crossed my path and without a doubt Nuno Gomes was the most inventive, exotic and creative. He showed me the new world of Mulecular Gatronomy.
Martineau Patrice came next and I belive he was (stil is) top of the tops in my carrer. The way he led the Savoy Kitchen was incredible and it's just a shame we did not have the chance to spend more time together.
After that I tried to find my feet working in other restaurants until I became Head chef of a vegetarian Restaurant/ Cafe in Bournemouth. It was an amaizing experience and showed the incredibly world of vegetarian cooking. Time to go back to Brazil!
The fact that we came back to Brazil for the second time has been crucial in our lifes. Cooking wise I saw a difrent approach to food and its way of cooking it!! Brazil is just another planet!
Cooking is a religion and its folowers should have faith and belive that each meal is like a ritual and should be prepared with love and thought.
