About me

I'm a married mother of four grown sons, ages 25, 25, 23 and 20, two of whom still live at home. I do almost all of the cooking at our house. Everything except grilling out, basically. Occasionally my husband will get "creative" and make something for dinner, and it usually turns out great! Unfortunately, he can't ever remember exactly how he makes things, so it's hard to duplicate anything, no matter how hard he tries. I've been cooking for quite awhile - even longer than my 26 years of married life. My specialties are soups and stews from scratch and I always love a good casserole. One-dish meals are wonderful and easy clean-up and what cook doesn't appreciate that? I'm not much into baking - except for cookies. I love searching for and finding new recipes to try. My family members are my guinea pigs and I generally don't have any complaints.

Cooking Influences

I grew up watching both my grandmothers cooking and there are some recipes of theirs that I still use to this day. My mom and mother-in-law have also been big influences. Both are good cooks, but don't usually use recipes, so I've learned by closely watching how much of this and that they use when preparing a dish..
