About me

Out of all the things I'm good at, Cooking would be #1. I learned how to cook from growing up watching my Italian Nana and mother cook. they are hands down the 2 best cooks that I know. All my tricks and secrets come from watching them ;). I also grew up watching food network, I think through the years all the information and recipes have been imbeded in my brain! I've been on the Rachael Ray show twice, once w/ Rocco Disperito and the other was a mystery food challenge. My dream is to one day have my own cooking show and cookbook!
I love taking everyday recipes that we all grow up on and love and giving them a twist by adding a secret ingredient. It is so much fun updating these kinds of recipes and making them my own by adding a little spin. Please feel free to comment or make suggestions..Im always looking to improve!

Cooking Influences

Nana, Mom, Rachael Ray, Giada DeLaurentis, Claire Robinson ( a new fav ) anyone on the food network. The local grocery store sale flyer.. really I look through whats on sale and start thinking about what I can make or come up with... its a fun game!

Cara...your meatball story and recipe brought back memories of not only Sunday morning rituals in our Italian casa...it also reminded me of my Hubby arriving for a date smelling like his Mamma's fried treats. It certainly broke the ice ;o)

Thanks for asking to be followed.
    Flavourful wishes,
    Claudia

Cara - I just read your recipe for Chicken Scarpariello and I am very impressed. I will try this recipe within a week, following it exactly, and let you know if it is as wonderful as it sounds. I love your comments explaining the background of the dish, Having a knowledge of where a dish comes from helps us to present the dish in the correct cultural context - it enhances the enjoyment of the dish dramatically.. Great job and good cooking! best regards - Amos
