About me

I'm a student at Le Cordon Bleu, graduating in the summer of 2011. My passion for cooking started since I was about ten years old when I used to help my grandparents in the kitchen. I could cook mainly anything but, my strong is Caribbean and Hispanic food. I'm a single mother of four, raising two small ones still. Looking foward to have my own catering business and teaching in the near future.

Cooking Influences

I love to eat therefore I love to cook. I'm always trying new recipes and changing old ones with new ingredients. My desire for cooking comes from a family that had passion in the kitchen and spent most of their time cooking. My aunt and my mother both cooked for wealthy distinguished politicians in the Island of Puerto Rico in 1940's and 1950's. My mother still at the age of 75 cooks pasteles a form of tamale made with green bananas filled withe pork or chicken wrapped in banana leaves and sells them by the dozen. Hopefully I will be cooking at this age and enjoying it.
