Just a typical small town girl, making it in the big city.

I love creating in the kitchen with my wonderful boyfriend Christopher - in fact, my passion for food began around the same time I met him.

I've learned a lot from him, and in turn over the years I have been able to bounce some valuable information back to him, and to others as well :)

If I can inspire just ONE person to be excited about food, well then I've done my job :)

Cooking Influences

Living in a climate where I can pick fresh fruits and vegetables for only part of the year really limits my ability to eat how I would truly like to.
This summer I am going to try and ONLY purchase foods from local sources (within 200 kms) for at least a two month period of time.
I saw a wonderful show last year that followed individuals and families who participated in such a challenge. Some made it through the two months, while others failed after only hours..
I will definitely update my blog (and this site) when the time comes so you can see my progress :)
