  • Texas Two Step Cake

    Ingredients

    • 2 c. flour
    • 2 tsp baking soda
    • 1 1/2 c. sugar
    • 2 x beaten Large eggs
    • 1 can of crushed pineapple with the juice
    • 3/4 c. lightly minced Texas pecans, or possibly any other nut
    • 3/4 c. sugar
    • 1/2 c. Pet lowfat milk
    • 1 stk butter (1/2 c.)
    •     Step #1

    Directions

    1. Put all the Step #1 ingredients in order given into a greased 9 x 13 cake pan.
    2. Mix with a fork till all the batter is the same consistency. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min, till lightly browned and springs back when pushed.
    3. Step #2Stir and place Step #2 in microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for about 2 min. Pour over the Warm cake when it is taken out of the oven. Use the mixing fork to spear the cake all over to allow the topping to permeate the cake. Allow cake to sit till cold sufficient to eat. It keeps well for several days in the fridge and can be re-warmed in the microwave.
