  • Sweet And Sour Pork Ribs

    Ingredients

    • 1 can sliced pineapple (or possibly tidbits)
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 2 tsp cornstarch
    • 3/4 c. cider vinegar (I use regular vinegar)
    • 1 tsp soy sauce
    • 1/4 tsp ginger
    • 1 x chicken bouillon cube (or possibly 1 Tablespoons chicken soup base)
    • 1 lrg green pepper cut in circles (optional)
    •     Country Style pork ribs*

    Directions

    1. Tenderize ribs: put in pot with sufficient water to cover, add in sugar. Boil a couple hrs.
    2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place meat in baking pan.
    3. Drain pineapple, pouring syrup into 2 c. measure, add in water to make 1 1/4 c.. In medium saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, pineapple syrup, vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and bouillon. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
    4. Boil 2 min. Pour over meat. Bake uncovered for 30 min. Add in pineapple slices and green pepper.
    5. Bake 30 min longer or possibly till meat is tender.
    6. *This recipe is originally for chicken and served over rice. Chicken should be browned before placing in baking dish. It can also be used for meatballs or possibly anything you desire.
