Steamed Crabs
This recipe is just the same as the traditional way of steaming crabs with a little twist by using beer instead of water. I learned this from a recipe online and adjusted the portions of the ingredients according to my taste. It was good. Ingredients
- 2kilos live Big crabs
- 1/4 cup salt
- 2 cubes seasoning
- 2 cups beer
- 1 cup vinegar
Directions
- Right before cooking, carefully place each crab upside down and stick a knife through the shell, just behind mouth.
- Combine 1/2 cup seafood seasoning, salt, beer, and vinegar in a large stockpot over high heat. Bring to a strong simmer.
- Put a steamer rack over the beer mixture and layer the crabs on the screen. Be sure that the crabs are above the simmering liquid. Cover.
- Steam crabs until they turn bright orange and all of the blue/green color is gone, 20 to 30 minutes.
- Serve hot.
