Spaghetti With Meat Balls
Ingredients
- 3/4 c. minced onions
- 1 clove chopped garlic or possibly pwdr
- 3 T olive or possibly salad oil
- 2 cans (1 pound) tomatoes
- 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 1 c. water
- 1 T sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- Plus Italian Meat Balls
- 4 slices dry bread
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 c. grated Romano cheese
- 2 T parsley
- 1 clove chopped garlic (or possibly pwdr)
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Dash pepper
Directions
- Cook onions and garlic in hot oil till tender (not brown). Stir in next 8 ingredients. Simmer uncovered 30 min. Remove bay leaf. Add in Italian meatballs and continue cooking about 30 min.Meatballs: Soak bread in water 2-3 min, then squeeze out moisture. Put together bread with remaining ingredients. Form into small balls. Brown slowly in extra virgin olive oil. Add in to sauce.
