Sour Cream Coffee Cake
I worked with a friend to modify this recipe years ago until we got it just right! It's a brunch favorite. Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup flour
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions
- Lightly grease a 9 x 9 pan.
- Sift together the dry ingredients (through salt).
- Combine the remaining ingredients and beat well.
- Add the sifted ingredients to the cream mixture. Beat just until smooth. Batter will be very thick. Spread half the batter in the pan. Sprinkle 1/3 of streusel on batter. Pour on remainder of batter, and top with the rest of the streusel.
- Bake for ~40 min. at 350ï° (itâs done when a knife comes out clean).
