So many people give me a look of awe when I pull out homemade fudge because "it's just so hard to do!". It really isn't! Fudge is one of the first things a girl's taught to make just because it is so very easy. Fudge requires a little patience, working with chocolate and lots of imagination to see what you can get away with as flavoring and surprises. My husband LOVES this particular fudge for its real peanut butter and smoothness. I always have to hide some to get a taste myself. To keep your pieces for later, wrap pieces in squares of wax paper and store in air tight jars.

    Ingredients

    • 2 c white sugar
    • 1 c brown sugar
    • 1 c milk
    • 3 Tbsp karo syrup
    • 3 squares unsweetened/bitter chocolate
    • 1/2 c peanut butter
    • 1 Tbsp butter

    Directions

    1.
Boil all ingredients except peanut butter until they form a soft ball in cold water.
    2.
Add peanut butter and beat until thick.
    3.
Spread evently in a deep pan lined with lightly buttered wax paper.
    4.
Let set for 1 to 2 hours, cut in to squares and serve.
