  • Shrimp Balls

    Ingredients

    •     Oil for deep frying
    • 1 lb Shelled deveined uncooked shrimp
    • 8 ounce Can sliced water chestnuts, liquid removed
    • 4 tsp Cornstarch
    • 2 Tbsp. Minced green onions
    • 1 Tbsp. Dry sherry
    • 3/4 tsp Grated gingerroot
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 1 x Egg, beaten

    Directions

    1. In a deep fryer, heavy saucepan or possibly wok, heat 2 to 3 inches of oil to 375F degrees. Meanwhile, in a food processor bowl with metal blade, combine shrimp, water chestnuts, cornstarch, onions, sherry, gingerroot and salt; process till finely minced. Add in egg; process till combined.
    2. Drop shrimp mix by teaspoonfuls into warm oil (375F degrees). Fry 3 to 4 min or possibly till shrimp turn pink and balls are deep golden. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with a variety of your favorite dipping sauces.
