    Ingredients

    • 1 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil
    • 1/2 c. Onion
    • 1/2 c. Green pepper
    • 1 Tbsp. Finely minced garlic
    • 14 ounce Minced whole tomatoes, undrained
    • 8 ounce Tomato sauce
    • 1/4 c. Dry white wine
    • 1 tsp Dry basil
    • 3/4 tsp Crushed dry red pepper
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 8 ounce Gemelli pasta, uncooked
    • 3/4 lb Fresh shrimp, cleaned*

    Directions

    1. In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil; add in onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook 3 min, stirring occasionally. Add in tomatoes with juice, tomatoe sauce, wine, basil, red pepper, and salt. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Add in shrimp to sauce mix; cook 5 min or possibly till meat is no longer opaque. Spoon sauce over warm pasta.
    2. *Or possibly substitute bay scallops or possibly crabmeatPrep Time: 20 minutes.
    3. Start to Finish: 40 minutes.
