Seafood Fra Diavolo
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 c. Onion
- 1/2 c. Green pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Finely minced garlic
- 14 ounce Minced whole tomatoes, undrained
- 8 ounce Tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. Dry white wine
- 1 tsp Dry basil
- 3/4 tsp Crushed dry red pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 8 ounce Gemelli pasta, uncooked
- 3/4 lb Fresh shrimp, cleaned*
Directions
- In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil; add in onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook 3 min, stirring occasionally. Add in tomatoes with juice, tomatoe sauce, wine, basil, red pepper, and salt. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Add in shrimp to sauce mix; cook 5 min or possibly till meat is no longer opaque. Spoon sauce over warm pasta.
- *Or possibly substitute bay scallops or possibly crabmeatPrep Time: 20 minutes.
